FUNDAMENTALS OF FAITH
CONGREGATION OF YAHWEH
IN YAHSHUA HAMASSIACH
PHILIPPINES
1. We believe that the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation is the precious Word of Yahweh; that the Scriptures is the only true infallible standard against which any doctrine, teaching and revelation must be measured and tested (Psalms 119:105, II Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, Psalms 12:6, Jeremiah 23:29, Psalms 68:11, Matthew 24:35, Isaiah 55:11, Isaiah 40:8, I Peter 1:25); that the original of the Old Testament or TaNaKh was written in scrolls in Hebrew language and that the original of the New Testament or B’rit Chadasha was also written in scrolls in Hebrew-Aramaic language, not in Greek language; that all bible translations have helped us to understand the Word of Yahweh, but we need to go back to the original or to the nearest point possible (Yeremiah 8:8, Isaiah 43:27) to truly understand the unadulterated, untampered, precious and pure teachings of the Scriptures which are in complete harmony from Genesis to Revelation (Romans 3:4, John 10:35, Mark 14:49, Isaiah 40:8, Isaiah 34:16, Psalms 40:7).
2. We believe that Yahshua started rebuilding the Family of Yahweh at His first advent and He will complete the rebuilding of the same at His second advent; that Yahshua did not build a church or religion, but a family – the Family of Yahweh; that by accepting Yahshua as our one and only personal Savior, He will give us the power to become the children of Abba Yahweh; that the people of Abba Yahweh are called by His name because they are actually His children begotten in faith through Yahshua; and that by becoming a part of the Family of Yahweh through Yahshua we also become part of the seed of Abraham and heirs of the promise (John 1:12, Romans 8:14-16, I John 3:1, Galatians 3:26, II Peter 1:4, Deuteronomy 28:10, Daniel 9:19, II Chronicles 7:14, Ephesians 3:14-15, Galatians 3:26-29)
3. We believe that the only personal name of the Heavenly Father is YAHWEH or the abbreviated form YAH as in HalleluYah ( Psalms 68:4, Exodus 20:2, Isaiah 42:8, Exodus 3:14-15, Psalms 83:18) and the only personal name of His Son who is our Savior is YAHSHUA (Acts 4:12 Matthew 1:20-25); that their names are very important and very powerful for our identity and our salvation (II Chronicles 7:14, Psalms 27:1, Isaiah 43:11, Acts 4:12, John 14:13, John 15:16, I John 5:13, I John 5:13, John 1:12); that the Father and the Son are two beings (Proverbs 30:4, Genesis 1:26, Genesis 19:24, Psalms 2:2,7,12, John 5:43, John 8:29, John 14:28) who are truly united as one (echad – united or unified in mind, love and heart). Deuteronomy 6:4 and John 10:30 prove that the Father and the Son are echad or one, truly united in all aspects. We believe that all believers will become one or echad (Galatians 3:27-29, Philippians 2:2) truly united and unified in Yahshua. (We do not believe in trinity).
4. We believe that Yahshua is both Elohim and man, a perfect mediator, a perfect advocate between the all-powerful sinless Father in heaven and the frail sinful humanity on earth (John 20:28, Hebrews 1:8, John 10:33, I Timothy 2:5, Philippians 2:11, I John 2;1); that as sinless Elohim He fully understands the Father’s heart (John 14:30, John 16:33, Luke 23:14, Luke 23:41, Matthew 27:19, Matthew 27:3-4) and as a man with the sinful nature, yet without sin, Yahshua truly understands the hearts of the penitent sinners (Philippians 2:7-8, Isaiah 53:3-5, Hebrews 4:15-16, Matthew 11:28-30, I Corinthians 10:13); that Yahshua pre-existed before He was born in Bethlehem (John 8:57-58, Isaiah 43:10-11, Daniel 7:13, Genesis 19:24, Psalms 2:7-8 & 12, Proverbs 30:4), for by Him and through Him the Elohim Yahweh created all things whether in heaven or on earth or under the earth (Colossians 1:12-19, John 1:1-3).
5. We believe that salvation is an act of amazing mercy from Abba Yahweh, a free gift (Ephesians 2:8) conveyed to us erring mortals through His only begotten Son Yahshua Hamashiach (John 3:16-17, I John 5:11-13); that we are saved if we accept this free gift of salvation in faith – true, living and active faith - that is manifested in good works which are the fruit of the Spirit (James 2:17-26, John 15:4-5, Galatians 5:22-26, Matthew 5:16); that true faith is shown in our loving obedience to the Torah which Yahshua commanded us to keep if we truly love Him (John 14:15, I John 5:2-4, Romans 3:31, I Corinthians 7:19); that true faith is a lifetime commitment of growing unto perfection into the likeness of Yahshua (Matthew 5:48, II Timothy 3:16-17, Ephesians 4:13, II Peter 3:18); that true faith includes the rejection of all evil appearances (I Theassalonians 5:22-23, Deuteronomy 7:26); that we are saved by faith but we are judged according to our works (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 4:16, Habakkuk 2:4, Hebrews 10:38, Hebrews 11:6, Revelation 22:12, Revelation 20:12-13, I Peter 1:17, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Matthew 16:27, Romans 2:6, Jeremiah 17:10, Psalms 62:12, Proverbs 24:12, II Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 2:23)
6. We believe that the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17, Deuteronomy 5:7-21) were not nailed in Calvary but are binding from eternity to eternity and must be kept by all believers of the Savior who was born in Bethlehem; that true believers must aspire to have the Torah of Abba Yahweh, which includes the Ten Commandments, written in their hearts and minds (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:10-11, Hebrews 10:16); that obedience to the commandments of Abba Yahweh is the evidence that we have the love and the faith of Yahshua in our hearts ( John 14:15, I John 5:2-4).
7. We believe that we can only truly bear the fruit of the Spirit if we follow Yahshua all the time and have a strong, ever growing one-on-one personal relationship with Yahshua, for we can do nothing apart from Him (John 15:1-5, Ephesians 3:17-19, Ephesians 4:11-15, Ephesians 6:11-18, John 14:6).
8. We believe in baptism by immersion in the name of Yahshua by a duly ordained Elder for the remission of past sins (Acts 2:38, Romans 3:25, Acts 8:38-39); that one who accepts Yahshua in baptism must be old enough to understand his true state as a sinner, his need of the Savior, and his mental capability to make a lifetime decision and commitment to follow Yahshua (Acts 8:35-37, Matthew 22:37-40, Deuteronomy 6:5, Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 10:37, Matthew 19:29); that we are redeemed from the penalty of sin which is the second death by the blood and sacrifice of Yahshua on Calvary (Hebrews 9:12, Isaiah 53:1-12); that our sins are washed away at the moment we accept Yahshua HaMashiach in water baptism (Acts 2:38, Revelation 1:5, Romans 3:25); that after baptism we begin to walk in newness of life with Yahshua (Romans 6:3-4).
9. We believe in the need for purity of worship to Abba Yahweh through Yahshua; thus, we believe in the rejection of all forms of paganism which include the rejection of names of pagan idols such as Lord, God, Dios, Ginoo, Allah, Buddha, Brahman, etc., the rejection of false/erroneous names such as Jehovah, Jesus, Krishna, Christ, Yaohu, Yehowah, etc.; the rejection of all pagan feasts, practices and celebrations such as Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, All Souls Day and All Saints Day, feasts of patron saints, January 1 New Year, weekly Sunday keeping, Easter Sunday, communicating with familiar spirits, wizards and mediums, etc.; and the rejection of pagan signs and symbols such as the cross, horoscope, spirit of the glass, wand, crescent moon, etc. (Exodus 20:7, Exodus 23:13, Joshua 23:7-8, Revelation 18:4, Jeremiah 10:2-5, II Corinthians 6:16-17, Hosea 2:16-17, Joshua 1:7-9, Deuteronomy 12:2-3).
10. We believe in the keeping of the feasts of Yahweh – His moedim or appointed times -- enumerated in Leviticus 23 namely: weekly Sabbath, Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day; that these were being kept by Yahshua and His apostles in the Brit Chadasha or New Testament (Luke 4:16, Acts 17:2, Hebrews 4:9-10; John 13:1-17, Luke 2:40-42, I Corinthians 11:23-29; Luke 22:1, Acts 20:6, Acts 12:3, Acts 18:21; Acts 2:1, I Corinthians 16:8, Acts 20:16; Matthew 24:31, I Corinthians 15:51-53; Acts 27:9 – NIV and TEV --; John 7:2-38); that these feasts show Yahweh’s perfect plan of salvation for mankind and they are to be kept/celebrated through all eternity using the Scripture Calendar (Leviticus 23:14, 21, 31, 41, Zechariah 14:16-17, Isaiah 66:22-23, Matthew 26:26-29). 11. We believe in the set-apart Scripture calendar; that a day begins at sunset and ends the next sunset (Leviticus 23:32), a month begins at new moon and ends the next new moon (Genesis 1:14, Isaiah 66:23), and a year begins at Abib (Exodus 12:2, Exodus 13:3-4); that the first new moon after the spring or vernal equinox is the beginning of the month Abib.
12. We believe in the keeping of the Dietary Law of Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14; that these were not nailed to the torture stake of Yahshua in Calvary (II Corinthians 6:17, Revelation 18:2, Acts 10:14); that this dietary law – kosher - if strictly observed, will give great physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental benefits to the people (I Timothy 4:4, Romans 8:22, III John 1:2, Genesis 1:20-25.
13. We believe that there will be a literal re-gathering of the remnant of the twelve tribes of Israel back to the land promised by Abba Yahweh to Abraham, Yitzchak and Yaacob; that this re-gathering will include people of gentile blood who truly accept and believe in Yahshua, and they are to be grafted into the olive tree which is the Nation and Land of Israel; that the re-gathering of Yahweh’s people back into the land will usher the fulfillment of great prophetic events and the return of Yahshua. (Isaiah 11:12-13, Isaiah 43:3-7, Jeremiah 16:15, Jeremiah 23:6-8, Jeremiah 31:35-37, Jeremiah 31:9-10, Jeremiah 33:7, Jeremiah 33:23-26, Ezekiel 36:15-28, Ezekiel 47:1-23, Ezekiel 48:1-35, Genesis 15:18, Genesis 17:19, Genesis 35:10-12, Acts 1:6, Romans 11:11-17, Revelation 7:4-8, Revelation 21:12, Matthew 10:5, Matthew 19:27-28, Ephesians 2:11-20). We do not believe in replacement theology.
14. We believe in the more sure Word of Prophecy; that it was given by Abba Yahweh and Yahshua to guide, enlighten, inspire and strengthen the faith of His people that no matter what trials, hardships, sacrifices, disappointments and persecutions we may endure the final outcome of Yahshua setting up His great kingdom in this world is already assured; that prophecy is the thing that sets the Scriptures miles apart from the other so-called sacred books of the world ( II Peter 1:19-21, Isaiah 48:2-5, Isaiah 46:9-10, Isaiah 41:21-23, Deuteronomy 18:21-22, Jeremiah 28:9, John 10:35, Mark 14:49, Romans 3;4, Hebrews 6:18, Revelation 1:1-3).
15. We believe in the power of prayer; that prayer must be made by all believers on a daily basis – morning, noon and evening – for it is “the key in the hands of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse where are treasured the boundless resources of the omnipotent”, omniscient and omnipresent Abba Yahweh (II Chronicles 7:14, Psalms 55:16-17, Luke 18:1, I Corinthians 14:15, Ephesians 6:18, I Thessalonians 5:17, I Timothy 2:8, James 5:13-16, I Peter 4:7, Philippians 4:6, Matthew 21:22, Proverbs 15:8).
16. We believe in the power of fasting; that prayer and fasting are very powerful weapons in the hands of the believers to resist temptations, to endure trials and disappointments, to strengthen the faith; that every true believer in Abba Yahweh and Yahshua must do a 24-hour full fasting during Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement; that other periods of fasting may be made by the believers for special, heartfelt requests to the Father in heaven ( Leviticus 23:27-32, Jeremiah 36:6, I Corinthians 7:5, Psalms 35:13, Jonah 2:7-8, Esther 4:16, Matthew 4:1-10, Acts 9:9, Joel 1:14-15, Joel 2:12-13, Matthew 17:21, Mark 9:24-29, Acts 27:9).
17. We believe in caring for the least fortunate among the brethren as Yahweh guides us and shows us how, and gives us the means to do so (James 1:27, Matthew 25:33-46, Galatians 6:9-10, Leviticus 25, Leviticus 19:9-10, Matthew 5:7).
18. We believe in the sanctity of life, marriage and family; that marriage should be between a man and a woman only; that a marriage covenant is a very precious covenant between two consenting individuals, a male and a female - man and woman-, binding them for life; that only death can break them apart; we believe in the rejection of everything and anything that weakens the family such as abortion, divorce, pre-marital and extra-marital sex, same sex marriage, fornication, gambling, smoking, drunkenness, drug addiction, etc.; that the parents are the first teachers of their children to teach them the Torah of Abba Yahweh, the love of Yahshua, and the ways of the Kingdom (Genesis 2:23-24, Matthew 19:3-9, I Corinthians 7:1-16, I Corinthians 7:39, Romans 7:2-3, Deuteronomy 17:17, Ephesians 5:22-25, Proverbs 31:10-31, Exodus 20:14, Deuteronomy 5:18, Leviticus 18, Romans 1:25-28, I Corinthians 6:16-20, Proverbs 20:1, Habakkuk 2:15, Ecclesiastes 7:26, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Ephesians 6:1-4, Proverbs 23:20-23, 29-35, Malachi2:13-16).
19. We believe that Yahweh owns everything in this world and in this universe (Psalms 50:10-12, Haggai 2:8); that all we have are actually Yahweh’s and while waiting for the return of Yahshua, these should be spent wisely for the upkeep of the family, for sustenance of the household, for the real joys of life, for helping the needy and for supporting the work of Yahweh for the saving of souls; we believe in the giving of tithes and offerings as Yahweh convicts the heart of the believer to support the great work of salvation (Genesis 14:18-20, Genesis 28:20-22, Deuteronomy 14:22, Leviticus 27:30-32, Malachi 3:8-10, Matthew 23:23, Hebrews 7:4-12).
20. We believe in the judicial order set up by Abba Yahweh in the family and in the assembly; that this judicial order is for the smooth and harmonious relationships in the family and among the believers, for efficient and effective implementation of the plans, programs and activities in the family and in the assembly, and for a strong and united family and body of believers; we believe that everything in the family, in the assembly and in our lives must be done decently and in order (Genesis 1:28-29, Exodus 18:17-26, I Corinthians 14:40, I Timothy 3:13, I Timothy 5:17-19, Titus 1:7-11, I Corinthians 12, Colossians 3:18-25, Ephesians 6:1-4, Ephesians 5:21-25, Ephesians 5:31-33, Romans 13:1-7, II Peter 2:10, Jude 1:8-9, Numbers 12:1-16, Numbers 16:1-13).
21. We believe the soul that sins shall die and that a dead soul does not know anything, all his thoughts, feelings and emotions perish at the moment of death (Ezekiel 18:4,20, Ecclesiastes 9:4-6, Psalms 146:4); that at the moment of death the spirit or the unconscious breathe of life shall go back to Abba Yahweh, the source of life, who gave this breathe of life to man in the beginning (Genesis 2:7, Luke 23:46, Mark 15:37, Matthew 27:50, Acts 7:59); that sinful human beings do not have immortal souls but the just and the righteous will be given immortality at the return of Yahshua (I Corinthians 15:52-54); that all the dead are still in the grave and they will be resurrected at the second coming of Yahshua, some to everlasting life and some to second death (Daniel 12:2, Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 22:12-14).
22. We believe in the literal return of Yahshua at the end of the great tribulation to execute judgment on the people and to usher the beginning of Yahweh’s kingdom here on earth which will reign forever and ever! HalleluYAH! (John 14:1-3, I Corinthians 15:50-58, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Zechariah 14:3-5, Revelation 19:11-21, Revelation 5:10, Matthew 5:5, Psalms 37:11, Genesis 15:18, Genesis 28:12-14, Genesis 35:12, Ezekiel 37:15-28, Ezekiel 47:21-23, Ezekiel 48:1-35, Ephesians 2:11-19).
